Applications are now being accepted for the Applied Investment Management (AIM) program for the 2023/2024 academic year. The class, which is coordinated by Ric Colacito is beginning the process of selecting next year’s student fund management team.

The AIM class actively manages the Global Perspectives Fund against the MSCI World Index. The fund has about $2 Million Assets Under Management and it has significant flexibility to invest in other asset classes, derivatives, and alternative strategies. The AIM class will allow you to greatly expand your skills into all areas of investment management, and will provide invaluable experience for students entering a wide range of investment-related fields.

The portfolio’s activities include, but are not limited to, economic and market analysis, security analysis, asset and industry allocation, risk management and modeling, factor analysis and screening, performance attribution, trade management, reporting, and knowledge management. We hope you will consider joining the class next year and help take these efforts to an exciting new level.

AIM is a 6-credit course taught over two semesters. You may take the course for one semester or both and receive proportional credit. The course open to qualified MBAs and BSBAs. The next AIM class will begin in Mod I of Fall 2023 and run through Mod IV of 2024.  Admitted students are strongly encouraged to attend the class during Mod IV (starting in March 2023) to familiarize themselves with portfolio positions and investment process ahead of the transition to next year’s management team.

The AIM class meets on Wednesdays, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm in the Capital Markets Lab.

Applications are due by: March 3, 2023.

Decisions and notifications will be sent out no later than: March 10, 2023.
